Mr Wilson’s Review: VIOLENT NIGHT

My Buddy, Mr J. Christopher Wilson is reviewing some movies and series.  He has agreed for us to post his reviews here.

VIOLENT NIGHT is your new Christmas movie tradition. Go ahead and buy it now. The recipe is simple yet bloody effective and packs a punch perfect for that Christmas movie you didn’t know you needed or wanted.

1.5 oz Die Hard
1.5 oz Home Alone
.5 oz overproof Friday the 13th

Pour contents into a shaker over ice, pour into a highball and garnish with a smirk.

VIOLENT NIGHT is the perfect adult Christmas bloody, dark comedy with winks and nods to the audience.

If the title didn’t alert you to the gore, the R-rating certainly should. Not designed for kids, those already allowed to see horror movies will do fine. They can avert their eyes at the worst parts. It’s full of cursing including plenty of F-bombs. There was no nudity, but it did have a few hysterical crotch shots. Christmas magic was intact although the idea of Santa being a parental construct was floated, but quickly dismissed and the fat man’s existence solidified.

Action packed, greed-attacking, curse-laced, gore-filled, and comedy-laden, VIOLENT NIGHT is a new breed of gender-bending Christmas movie that will be added near the top of my top must-see holiday films.

In other news, the theater previewed COCAINE BEAR, which had a similar vibe. Keep an eye out for that movie.
