Love Triangles Where the Girl Has Two Great Choices:

Ah. Valentine’s Day! A Day of love, romance, confessions, and symbols of passion.  Deep down, we all yearn for a true love, but what we love even MORE in our escapes from reality called TV, Internet, books, movies, and games are love triangles, having TWO people that could be their forever darling! The drama it causes thrills the watchers makes them envious at times and nervous others.

Most of the time, writers create a new love interest to cause tension and entertainment, make the eye of affection question where they belong.  But often, they are just a distraction or it becomes clear which one they love most or is better.  One the viewers/readers cheer for the most.

However, there are a couple of love triangles where I CANNOT pick a favorite choice! In this case, the girl would be lucky to have either of the guys, a love easily possible with either one.

What are your favorite love triangles?  Let us know! 🙂

Love Triangles Where the Girl Has Two Great Choices:

TV Show: “Younger”

(Liza, Josh, Charles)

I just got into this show through Hulu this year.  My bestie Marissa suggested it to me and we loved it! This show follows a 40 year old, newly divorced woman who needs to raised money to send her daughter to college.  She cannot get hired anywhere in publishing, her major, because she is too old.  So her quirky best friend suggests dolling her up so she pulls off for 26 years old.  She lands a publishing assistant job, learning about how to blend in with the Millenial generation (her new work friend being the fabulous Hilary Duff).

While trying to keep up and hide her secret, she starts to get to know a romantic, cool tattoo artist named Josh, him energetic, tender-hearted, and exciting.  And 26! But there is also Charles, the dashing, charming head publisher where Liza works.  He’s bright, compassionate, and a gentleman through and through.  He is also in his mid-forties, going through a divorce with two daughters.  Liza feels connections with both of them throughout the series.  Man! I can’t choose one for her…or me! They are both SO good! When Josh smiles, I melt. When Charles’ blue eyes look at you, I have to fan myself.  Liza is a lucky girl! Who will she choose in the final season?  We will have to wait! *cries*

Cartoon: “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir”

(Mariette, Adrian, Luka):

Oh my goodness! My hubby and I LIVE for the claws out and spots on! This show shouldn’t be this good for a kids show, but man! The table flip moments between Adrian and Mariette, the action, the shenanigans that ensue with these colorful, powerful characters, creativity…just all of it! Now, I know deep down, the world is screaming for Mariette/Ladybug and Adrian/Cat Noir to be a couple, even though the secret identity and rules are getting in the way.  But, then they introduced Luka for Mariette.  What an angel! He cares for her so purely, only wanting her happiness, even if its not with him.  He’s soulful with his music and words.  He only turned evil for Hawk Moth because he was DEFENDING Mariette with all his heart.  Luka is gentle and cute too.  When he looks at her, holds her as she cries for Adrian, or kisses her, it is so tender that my chest squeezes.

I do want Mariette to be with Adrain since they are the OTP of this series and well deserve that title.  But, Luka is a prince and if Mariette cannot have her Kitty, she has a prince with a guitar that would treat her right.  I love them all!

Movie: “The Notebook”

(Allie, Noah, Lon):

Okay! My hands are up! Don’t shoot until you hear me out, please.

First off, I adore this movie.  It is one of my first romance movies, a staple, and classic.  And it deserves it.  But, I went through lists of love triangles in movies and none of them had me like the girl with either of the guys.  However, this movie kept popping in my head before and during looking at the lists.  Although, yes, Allie and Noah are the main couple and their love is beautiful, my heart went out to Lon.

Like Noah, he also fought in our war.  He almost lost his life.  Lon found her, enraptured by her gentleness as a nurse and beauty (stalker verses Noah guilting her for the first date.  Men, lol!) He was rich, but it wasn’t really a focus of their courtship.  When he found out about her and Noah, he was upset and hurt, but his biggest concern was he wanted a way to have Allie in his life.  Not possessively or for revenge.  And in my heart, I feel Allie would have had a good life with him.  Noah and Allie were darling at the end of the movie (no spoilers), but still, Lon got it rough and he is warm and endearing, a real knight.

Anime/Manga: “Orange”

(Naho, Kakeru, Hiroto)

This was one of the best recent mangas and animes I have ever experienced.  I inhaled the manga.  The story is about a group of five friends.  Naho, the shy, mother hen of the group, received a letter on the first day of her 2nd year of high school..from her future self, explaining events that happen in her present.  Then comes in a new student, Kakeru.  Although the letter from her future self-states not to invite him, Naho and her friends invite him to hang out after school.  With this, events begin to unfold that follow the letters, Kakeru’s well-being now at stake.  Naho now is determined to help Kakeru, trying to stop the events in the letter, but there is one rule she is breaking: Naho is falling in love with him.

This movie is written so well, the characters relatable and inspiring, the animation/art style breathtaking, and there is a hint of sci-fi mystery that somehow fits into this heart-warming/heart-wrenching romantic drama! Naho sets her sights on Kakeru, but there is Hiroto, the big brother/best guy-bro type fella with a heart of gold.  I adore him and he and Naho would have a beautiful life together, with their compassion for others and willingness to sacrifice their happiness to help their friend.  I honestly cherish Naho with both these guys, but how they ended the manga and side-story was perfect!
