Any true Stargate fan knows the drill: the original gate was unburied in Giza, Egypt back in 1928, SG-1 spent ten seasons keeping the galaxy safe from the Goa’uld, and Atlantis and Universe took us to whole new galaxies.
So when The Daily Show correspondent Josh Johnson sat down to explore the internet theory that Iran sits on a secret, ancient underground Stargate, it all suddenly clicked. Forget modern geopolitical posturing—obviously, someone is just trying to secure Sector 2814 and stop an interdimensional invasion!
While the segment is pure satirical gold, any sci-fi fan will appreciate how uncannily close the theory sounds to a classic SG-1 episode plot. If only General Hammond were around to brief us.
