The Batman family in the DC Cinematic Universe is growing. Joss Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce a Batgirl solo film for Warner Bros. No details are known about this movie other than the character of Batgirl, it taking place in Gotham City, and Joss Whedon.
Does this mean that Batgirl will appear in the upcoming The Batman movie? If so, it would be a good set up for her own movie.
The Batgirl movie will be the second female lead superhero movie for DC. The Wonder Woman movie will premiere on June 2nd of this year. Marvel will have their first female led movie is set for 2019 with Captain Marvel.
