I do not care if it is fictional, but is it possible in the Marvel universe? In that universe it is a big yes.
You have to consider the new energy source that tony developed in iron Man two and the materials the helicarrier is made out of.. They would not build it out of steel like a traditional aircraft carrier. Even using non-fictional lightweight alloys, it might weigh as little as 1/4 the weight. especially if you used a larger version of tony’s arc reactor to power it and not a standard nuclear reactor with all of it’s lead shielding.
