Fatherhood, Ghosts, and Ultron: ‘VisionQuest’ Hits Disney+ October 14

The synthetic hero returns! Marvel Studios has dropped the trailer for VisionQuest, the anticipated Disney+ series set to serve as the concluding chapter of the trilogy that began with WandaVision (2021) and continued in Agatha All Along (2024).

Following his reboot as the White Vision at the end of WandaVision, Vision escaped those who sought to weaponize him and spent years laying low, disguising himself as a human. Restored with the memories of the original synthezoid but lacking the emotional connections tied to them, Vision finds himself in an existential crisis. To navigate his identity, he retreats into his programming—consulting embedded AI avatars including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and his mechanical creator, Ultron.

His quiet life of self-reflection is shattered when a bounty is placed on his head, forcing him on the run. Along the way, he crosses paths with Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica)—a mysterious, street-smart teenager who may be the reincarnated soul of his son Tommy Maximoff. As Vision protects Thomas while resisting Ultron’s insidious attempts to break out of his mind prison and finish his mission, the duo must navigate a dangerous galaxy of bounty hunters.

Helmed by showrunner Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard), the series features a stellar ensemble:

  • Paul Bettany as Vision

  • James Spader as Ultron

  • Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas Shepherd / Tommy Maximoff

  • Todd Stashwick as Paladin, the ruthless bounty hunter

  • T’Nia Miller as Jocasta

VisionQuest debuts its two-episode premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
