JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth will come to television with Amazon Prime. Amazon signed a multiple season deal with Warner Bros and Tolkien Estate and Trust to create a series set in Middle Earth.
Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books series have been adapted to movies by New Line Cinema. The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy won several awards including Oscars.
This series will take place prior to the Lord of the Rings series. It will lend from Tolkien’s other novels like The Silmarillion. There is a lot of source material that could be adapted from Tolkien’s writing for numerous seasons.
