20th Century Fox is creating a new Predator movie. The assumption was this Predator movie would be a reboot of the franchise. Instead of a full reboot, this will be an inventive sequel. It will keep the mythology of the series while adding a distinct twist.
Shane Black of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and Iron Man 3 fame will direct this movie. The Monster Squad writer Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad) will create the script. They worked together on The Monster Squad. They are excited to work with each other again.
Shane Black and Fred Dekker appear to be excellent choices to take up the Predator franchise. The Monster Squad and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang are very interesting and KOOL movies. If the movie studio doesn’t get in the way and it allows these two to create this film with their vision, then this flailing movie franchise could be rejuvenated.
