It is our 13th wedding anniversary! MAN, time flies! I always like to do a post to reflect things we enjoy and what could Derrick and I love more than our darling kitty, our whole world, Socks?  ^_^ She was a summer-born kitty, my daddy, found her, stating most likely June, so we made her birthday the same as our anniversary, June 18th.  🙂 And now, this month, she is 10! I cannot believe it! We love her so much.

I thought I would ‘interview’ her to celebrate these two amazing moments in my life.  <3 Meet my little girl, the true star of my medias, lol!

Socks’ Favorite Things:

• How old are you?-“My family says I am 10 years old now, I don’t know what that means, but I get treats, so I am happy with it.”

• How did you meet your momma and daddy?-“I was a kitten and lived outside with my cat momma and two siblings.  I was the baby.  They were so mean, blocking me from food.  So, my now grandpa lifted me up so I could eat the yummies he brought out. My furry momma was independent, so we did not get much milky from her.
• “My momma came over when I was 5 months old and I loved how her skirt swayed around my legs.  So, I went over, rolled on my lit’ back, and started batting.  Apparently, that is cute to do, because my mommy and grandpa smiled.  Soon, I got to go to a new place in a box with a handle.  I do not LIKE this box; normally, it means I go to the vet.  Makes me hissy!
• “A little time passed and then I explored every corner of the place, inspecting it; I had to make sure.  It was good.  Then I played with a fuzzy tail on a stick.  But, my hooman grandpa left me there! I was so a-scared and hid under the couch for two days, but my new momma and daddy checked on me, and made sure I had tasties and water and toys near me.  On the second night, I ventured to their big, soft bed, and were making squeaky happy noises.  They held me between them, and now, I let them live in MY house.”

• Favorite Toys?- “I have a large box full of toys, all of them on one side while my bed with a cube I can knock off is on top.  I like it sometimes because it’s like a cave.  Every year at the time where my big tree comes into the house and I get a wall sock full of goodies, I get some new toys from Kitty Paws, momma and daddy, and my grandparents.  My favorite toys though usually are toy mice, balls, small light-weight toys I can flip, twinkly balls, my plush taco, plush tribble, long sticks with dangling strings and toys…actually, ANY string is fun to chew on.  AND BOXES! All the boxes are mine and I love when mommy gets new ones just for me from the mail people.  If I fit, I sit.”

• Favorite Foods?- “I am not too picky, which momma and daddy praise me for.  I just am happy my food bowls and water are full.  I get something called Fancy Feast for my soft food.  I like all kinds, but any with gravy or cheese are my favorite.  My momma loves cheese too and if I sit there all cute, she gives me baby pieces.  I try to take her food too if she has meat, but daddy doesn’t like when I do.  What does he know?  I have eaten Meow-Mix Hairball Control dry hard food since I came here.  I like the crunch and throwing it around.  I get Friskies or Temptation Party Treats.  The cheese, gravy, bacon, or beef are my favorites, but I have to sit flat on my bottom or I do not get treats.  I also am not a fan of fish, probably because I am a Missouri cat.  And I make sure to wake up momma and daddy between 4 and 5:30 in the morning by tapping their faces or knocking things off the dresser.  I know they do not want their baby girl to go hungry, so I am sure they are grateful for.”

• How do you get exercise?- “I get random bursts of energy and I have to ZOOM all over the house! ZOOMIE ZOOM! I like to bounce on the bed too, often when momma and daddy are laying on it.  I also wrestle in bags or boxes, knock things over, roll in the sunshine, bat things under the kitchen cabinets or couch, try to tug on strings, or jump on momma’s dresser (which she doesn’t like.)  These are all great workouts and then I sleep for 5-8 hours after.  Sounds normal to me.”

• Nicknames?- “When they first got me, they called me their ‘Baby Girl.’  Now I get called all sorts of weird things: love, sugar cube, princess, pumpkin spice, silly girl, cutie pie, sweet girl, kitty… I am named Socks from my grandpa because I have four little white feet that look like I am wearing Socks.  When daddy gets upset I rub on his face or wake him up at 2 in the morning to cuddle (not sure why that makes him grumpy,) he calls me “cat.”  My Uncle Miles calls me Kitty Butt.  He’s weird.  My full name is Socks McCloud Comnick.  That is really weird, but my momma got flusterated at me one time and yelled that.  My daddy laugh and they said it fitted.  I don’t get it.”

• How do you help your momma and daddy?- “I give them emotional love and support, when I feel like it.  I keep them warm, when I feel like it.  I wake them up on time.  I check on them in the shower.  I follow them to keep their balance in check since they are old.  Not my fault they almost trip on me.  I guard the house from bugs and birds by batting or clicking at them through the window.  I rearrange their opened clothing drawers and inspect any rooms they forget to shut their doors.  I lay on momma’s laptop and help her type and write.  I do not think she is grateful for my artistic abilities.”

• Favorite Spots?- “My bed, momma and daddy’s beds, boxes, on piles of clothes or the laundry basket, the loveseat back by the window, on my parents’ laps, on my daddy’s desk (I wish he would fit his computer so I could play my MMOs again,) kitchen chairs, my daddy’s gamer chair, and on top of my momma’s dresser.”

• How do your momma and daddy show you they love you?- “Rubbing and licking on them, trying to bite their phones and glasses out of them so they focus on me, doing my rounds around my house and protecting us, cuddling, talking to them when I want, and giving them someone to take care of.”

• How do you show your momma and daddy you love them?- “They pick me up and both smother me in hugs and kisses.  They call it a family hug.  I whine about it, but I will admit, sometimes, I like it.  They cuddle me, give me pets, take care of me, let me watch anime with them (my momma and daddy are nerds,) protect me from annoying doggies, give me comfy and fun things, and call me their precious fur baby.  I think that is my favorite name.”
