HBO has temporarily suspended their production on their new series, Westworld.  According Yahoo, this shut down occurred to let the writing get further ahead.

Westworld is a science fiction series.  It is based on Michael Crighton’s 1973 film by the same name.  Westworld is a series about theme park robots becoming intelligent artificial life and the chaos it creates.

Since Westworld is an HBO series, it will push limits with sexuality and nudity.  The series will have graphic sex scenes. These scenes will have genital-to-genital touching and much more.  The casts and extras had to sign waivers to have this type of sexual intensity.

SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild) came to the defense of the actors.  They brought light the expectations of the cast.  If an actor or cast member doesn’t want to participate in a scene or level of nudity/sexuality then the waiver is null and void.

There was speculation that the suspension in production revolved around the issue of sexuality on the set but it seems that was not the case.
