Today is March 14th or also known as Pi Day or Pi(e) Day. Most of us remember from high school that Pi is a math symbol. It represent a constant in the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pie is often rounded up to 3.14 so we celebrate it on 03/14 on the calendar.
As is true for most even minor “Holidays” that we celebrate in the United States, we tie it to food. Because Pi is pronounced the same as Pie, we chose to eat Pie with it. Restaurants all over have specials today to help celebrate Pi(e) Day. As you are cutting your piece of pie, just think about how you can find the circumference of the pie if you weren’t too busy eating it.
