It is official. There will be more Gremlins but not in movie form at this time. WarnerMedia streaming service will have a half hour animated prequel series. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will be a join venture between Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation.
Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will be set in the 1920s in Shanghai. It will tell the story of Sam Wing, who goes on to be the grandfather shop keeper in the original movie, and how he meets a young Mogwai. This animated series will take us on an adventure through the Chinese Countryside with Sam, Gizmo, and a teenage street thief, Elle. They will encounter strange monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. They will also face an power seeking industrialist and a group of gremlins.
