One of the most fun comic book creators has left the world. Keith Giffen was an amazing comic book artist and writer. He passed away on Monday from a stroke at age 70.
Giffen brought a fun and interesting look to his comic art and stories. Giffen created and co-created some of my favorite characters including Rocket Raccoon, Lobo, Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle), and Ambush Bug. Ambush Bug is a sill and amazing character that I LOVE. He is in my top 5 of comic characters.
Giffen worked for Marvel in the 70s where he created Rocket. He then went to the distinguished competition at DC where he created Lob, Jamie, and Ambush Bug. At DC, his work on the Legion of Super-Heroes and Justice League were iconic and amazing runs. The Great Darkness Saga is still my favorite Legion story of all time.
Thank you for the amazing memories and laughs. Rest In Peace, Keith Giffen… oh wait a minute… you still owe us more issues of Ambush Bug.
