Fandom Advisory Network/ Dirigible Days/Day 304 Productions

At Project Comic Con, I found myself drawn to a booth with a large banner of FAN. FAN stands for Fandom Advisory Network. Julie Wilhelm was greeting people as they stopped by the booth. FAN is a type of social network for geeky fans.  “The Fandom Advisory Network (FAN) is a community, an outreach program that aims to brings collectors together with a single voice, offering fans, creators, publishers and manufacturers the opportunity to communicate easily regarding the issues held in common.”   This includes a network of blogs, photos, videos, a newsfeed, and much more.

I find the idea of  Fandom Advisory Network to be exciting and great.  This will give geeks (or Fans as they like to call us) a place to hang out and discuss various issues and interests.  Please check it out and check out their Facebook site.

Julie and her husband, Gary Lobstein, are involved with with other interests. They have created a new Steampunk webseries, Dirigible Days.

During Dirigible Days, you’ll join Captain Santiago Dunbar and the crew of the airship S.S. Beatrix as they transport a dangerous prisoner of war from the Cult of Cthulhu across the aethersphere of the Great Empire with ambushes, crooked lawmen, and Woe-Claw mercenaries along the way.

Our adventure takes place in an alternate reality nearly 1,000 years after a catastrophe transformed the surface of Earth and raised floating skylands, launching a new age of exploration and colonization. This steampunk-themed sci-fi/action/comedy is set in a rich world that mixes the Victorian era with elements of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and H.P. Lovecraft.

This is the year 997. Adventure is inescapable in these…DIRIGIBLE DAYS.

Gary and Julie and taping the webseries in the St. Louis area.  Below is the trailer for the webseries.

They are needing extras for the episodes.  If you are interested in being an extra, please leave them a message on their Facebook page.

Along with FAN and Dirigible Days, the Gary Lobstein and Julie Wilhelm also own Day 304 Productions.  Day 304 Productions creates “High definition digital videography for weddings,      special events, commercials and independent films.” They are videography experts. Check out their Film Projects.

It was “fan”-tastic to meet Julie. She and Gary have a lot of geeky and kool stuff they are creating. Gary was taping an interview with Denny O’Neil when I stopped by their booth and I look forward to viewing this in the future. Check out all their kool stuff when you have an opportunity.
