The GeekyGirl List: Favorite Sci-fi TV shows

During this stay at home/ quarantine time, I thought it would be entertaining  to do some lists of some of my favorites things that pertain to my geekdom.

Today’s Topic is My FAVORITE Sci-fi television series of all time.

10. Warehouse 13 

Two Secret Service agents track down mysterious objects at the behest of a warehouse caretaker who oversees a top-secret facility in South Dakota that houses strange and power relics collected by the U.S. government in this sci-fi comedy-drama.

9. Firefly 

Set 500 years in the future after a universal civil war, the crew of a small transport spaceship takes any job so long as it puts food on the table.

8. Sliders

A brilliant grad student accidentally opens an interdimensional portal, which sends him and three reluctant companions on a cosmic roller-coaster ride to alternate Earths.

7. Torchwood 

A top-secret team of investigators use scavenged alien technology to solve crimes—both human and alien—in this sci-fi adventure spinoff of Doctor Who.

6. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 

Set in the Star Trek Universe, In the vicinity of the liberated planet of Bajor, the Federation space station Deep Space Nine guards the opening of a stable wormhole to the far side of the galaxy.

5. Eureka

Geniuses inhabit a top-secret town, creating innovations and sometimes perilous situations in this quirky sci-fi series.The only non-genius… the new law.

AND HERE IS WHERE IT GETS TRICKY! These titles often move their position depending on my moods. But currently my top 4 are.

 

4.  Black Mirror  

Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia.

3. Quantum Leap

A time-travel experiment that went wrong sends physicist Sam Beckett back in time, where he assumes other people’s identities and helps to resolve the crises of his new hosts. He’s assisted in his adventures by Al Calavicci, also known as `The Observer,’ who has the ability to appear in holographic form.

2. The Mandalorian

Set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. The series depicts a lone bounty hunter must now protect The Child who was once his bounty. (And yes this is a new addition to my list but I really enjoyed this addition to The Star Wars stories.)

1. Doctor Who 

With over 57 years of adventures we get to follow a TimeLord, in all of his forms, who calls himself “The Doctor” and companions around through all of time and space as they deal with crises set on Earth and other worlds.
