Historically, the final day of a comic convention is a slow starter, often less attended than the frantic pace of Friday or Saturday. This used to be the case for Planet Comicon Kansas City as well—but over the last couple of years, the standard “Sunday rules” simply no longer apply.
A Sunday Like No Other
Even on Day Three, there was a significant line just to get into the building. While not quite the massive crowd of Saturday, it was far longer than I expected for a finale. By 11:00 AM, the walkways were packed, and the energy was electric. Lines remained long for both creators and celebrity signatures, and vendors were working overtime to keep up with the steady flow of customers. It truly had the vibrant feel of an opening day rather than the end of a long weekend.
Exploring the Floor
I spent the majority of my Sunday on the convention floor, catching up on the many booths I hadn’t managed to see yet—and there was a lot to take in! Between snapping photos of the incredible cosplayers roaming the floor and catching up with old friends, I even managed to make a few new ones along the way.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Sunday 2026 was an absolute blast and a fitting end to our coverage of this extraordinary event. A huge thank you to Planet Comicon for once again granting Geeky KOOL the opportunity to cover such a premier show. I’m already counting down the days until next year!
Stay Geeky!
