Mr Wilson’s Review: SHOTGUN WEDDING

My Buddy, Mr J. Christopher Wilson is reviewing some movies and series.  He has agreed for us to post his reviews here

A romantic action movie is a better choice than a rom-com and The Wife wanted to see it, so we watched SHOTGUN WEDDING. It was a fun but silly tropical movie to watch while stuck at home due to ice. It brought some heat to the home.
I don’t know what these people do for a living, that they can fly all their loved ones to a private island in the Philippines for a tropical wedding, but they made it seem as normal as a drive across town. That’s always the case with romantic stories.

Rich daughter, Darcy, didn’t want rich daddy to pay for a thing. She’s an adult and all that so her and her fiancé, minor league pinch hitter Tom, foot the bill. When daddy invited Darcy’s ex the drama gets a bit deep. Then, a group of armed pirates crashes the wedding in order to have rich daddy wire millions to their off shore account. Luckily, Darcy and Tom were off in the jungle having a near wedding-ending fight.

Guns and grenades go gangbusters as Darcy and Tom fight back to save their family and their wedding.

While most things were ridiculously unrealistic, it was a fun way to watch a rom-com and not as cookie-cutter as is typical of this genre. Made it entertaining enough.
