LibraryCon 2018 starts early this year. Tomorrow night, Friday August 17th from 7 PM to 8 PM, LibraryCon presents author, comics historian and publisher Hope Nicholson. Nicholson will present “The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen: Awesome Female Characters from Comic Book History.” This presentation is based on her book. She will discuss the history of women in comics from the 1930s to 2010s.
Nicholson is the owner of the Winnipeg-based publishing house Bedside Press. It creates graphic novels and prose fiction. These include “The Secret Loves of Geek Girls” and “Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time.” There will be books for sale and a signing will take place after the presentation.
