According to James Gunn’s Twitter account, the rumors about Nathan Fillion’s role as Nova in the Guardians of the Galaxy is absolutely FALSE! Gunn is the director of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. He tweeted on earlier on Saturday, “The rumors of my pal @NathanFillion playing Nova in #guardiansofthegalaxy have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated. Sorry, humans.”
I know this sad news for all of us that were hoping the rumors were true. We knew it was just a rumor at this time and things can get a bit carried away on the internet.
Later today,Gunn tweet again and did give us something to smile about. He tweeted, “@STARS_TyranT: Are the rumours true that he has some part in the film?” @nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me.”
James Gunn came out and told us that Nathan will not be Nova in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. He did let us in on the secret that Fillion will be on the screen as a small cameo. Gunn didn’t come out and say that Fillion will not play the role of Richard Rider (who becomes Nova) but only that he will not be Nova in Guardians.
What will Nathan’s role be for sure? We can only speculate at this time.
