Before The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, or Cyberpunk 2077, there was William Gibson’s seminal 1984 novel Neuromancer—the groundbreaking masterpiece that popularized the cyberpunk genre and coined terms like “cyberspace” and “the Matrix.” Now, after decades of failed film adaptations, the definitive godfather of high-tech dystopias is finally coming to television.
Co-created by showrunner Graham Roland (Dark Winds, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) and director J. D. Dillard (Devotion, The Outsider), the series brings Gibson on board as an executive consultant to ensure Sector 2814-level fidelity to the source material.
High-Stakes Espionage in a Neon Dystopia
The series follows Henry Case (Callum Turner), a disgraced, top-tier “console cowboy” and washed-up hacker whose nervous system was deliberately damaged to prevent him from ever “jacking” into cyberspace again.
Offered a miraculous cure for his condition, Case is recruited by a mysterious military veteran named Armitage (Mark Strong) for an impossible job. Partnered with Molly Millions (Briana Middleton), a lethal “razor-girl” street samurai with mirrored eye implants and retractable razor blades beneath her fingernails, Case is thrust into a high-stakes heist against an all-powerful corporate dynasty holding dangerous galactic-level secrets.
Alongside Turner, Middleton, and Strong, the powerhouse international cast includes Joseph Lee (as Hideo), Peter Sarsgaard (as John Ashpool), Clémence Poésy (as Marie-France Tessier), and Emma Laird (as Linda Lee).

The future arrives early next year! Neuromancer officially premieres globally on Friday, January 22, 2027, on Apple TV+ with a two-episode debut, followed by weekly episodes through March 19.
