Happy Life Day – Star Wars Wookie Holiday

Happy Life Day!  Today we celebrate what some consider to be the worst Star Wars incarnation.  If you thought Episode 1 was bad, you haven’t  seen anything until you see the Holiday Special.

As stated above, on November 17, 1978, CBS aired the Star Wars Holiday Special.  They were only allowed to air it once.  George Lucas hated this holiday variety show weaved into the Star Wars Universe.

Back in the 1970s, the holiday variety shows were very popular.  Many Hollywood Stars and Singers had their own holiday variety shows. Some of them like Bob Hope had yearly holiday variety shows.  It made sense to CBS to create a variety show tied to the immensely popular Star Wars universe.

The problem was it really stunk.  It was even too weird and bizarre for my 8-year-old Star Wars fanatic tastes.  The only saving grace with the 9 minute anime like animated story introducing Bobba Fett.

In honor of Life Day, the awesome Star Wars Cartoon introducing Bobba Fett from Star Wars Holiday Special.  The animation is a very 70s style but it is still awesome.

In case you want to go full nostalgic and watch the whole Star Wars Holiday Special, it is right below for your viewing pleasure.
