Kaylee Hottle, the 18 year old star of Godzilla X Kong, was tragically killed in a single car accident in Maryland. Hottle who played Jia, the young deaf girl who communicated with ASL, was born into a family where everyone was deaf. She rose to fame in the Godzilla franchise, as the breakout star who talked to Kong.
The accident happened around 3am and speed was apparently a factor in the crash. It was reported that the first responders asked for an ASL interpreter, and that her heart stopped on the way to the hospital.
Legendary Pictures released a statement on their facebook Page
“We are devastated by the tragic passing of Kaylee Hottle. Through her unforgettable portrayal of Jia, Kaylee brought extraordinary heart, humanity, and light to Godzilla, Kong, and the Monsterverse. She was a cherished member of our film family, and her kindness, warmth, and remarkable talent touched everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her during this unimaginably difficult time.
