I hate when the Fox Television Network lives up to their bad reputation of canceling science fiction shows before they give them a chance. Television series like The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Dark Angel, Space: Above and Beyond, and of course Firefly have met their early demise.  I know there are others that I have left off the list  Fox is known in the geek community as the Sci Fi Series Killers because they don’t allow a show to grow and grab a following (at least while it is on the air).  They often will move a sci fi show around into different time slots so fans have a hard time finding it.

Now they have killed a KOOL looking new series before it even aired on single episode.  The series Hieroglyph was ordered last October.  They even put out a KOOL looking trailer for Hieroglyph and you can check it out below. (via Deadline)

Here is the general concept for the show.  When The Book of Thresholds is stolen, Pharaoh Shai Kanakht pulls the thief, Ambrose, out of a dark prison to help find this powerful book.  The thief could be anyone.  This is a very dangerous world and Ambrose will have to proceed lightly with wisdom if he wants to survive.  (Geeky KOOL)

I was looking forward to seeing this series.  I didn’t think Fox could disappoint me because I expected it would get canceled. But I never expected that they would top themselves and cancel a show without even airing it.  I shouldn’t be surprised.
