Floating City Above China- Another Internet Hoax?
On Friday news of a mysterious floating cloud city over China hit the internet hard and fast. It was all over Facebook. There were tons of articles from suspicious “news” websites like the Sunday Express.

According to these articles, the mysterious cloud city appeared over both Foshan in the Guangdong province and a day later over he province of Jiangxi, China.  Thousands saw this sky city and then it disappeared within minutes.  There is a video released from someone in China (see below).  Speculation on what could create this mysterious city from aliens, to an alternative dimension leaking through, to a government conspiracy to fake an alien invasion to an optical illusion known as a Fata Morgana  type of mirage that distort distance objects.

The Fata Morgana theory would have made sense to me if this story seemed real at all.  The internet is full of cruel hoaxes and pranks.  How many of us have had family members fall from the M&M and Bill Gates hoaxes? Most of us have either fallen for an internet Hoax (I know I have) or at least have friends and family members that have.

What makes me think this is a Hoax?  That is simple. No major news site is covering this story.  If it were really seen by thousands (even in China), I would expect CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, BBC, and all the other major networks covering this story.  There are no follow-up story to the original story and interviews with scientists explaining it.

Conspiracy theorists tell us that the world governments would cover us this story.  They don’t want to panic their citizens.  I love reading a good conspiracy theory because they are fun but I am a skeptic when it comes to believing them.
