Disney Re-Postpones Several Movies Including Black Widow

Disney has pulled the trigger on their big movies for the Fall.  No one is really surprised by it.  They are all being moved back and many of the 2021 movies are being moved because of it.  Disney films like Black Widow, West Side Story, and Death on the Nile will not come out in 2020.  They have all been moved to 2021.  They did leave Pixar’s Soul on the slate for late November.

Black Widow has moved back again to May 7, 2021.  Death on the Nile, the sequel to the Murder on the Orient Express, will now come out on October 23, 2021.  The musical remake of the classic West Side Story, Spielberg’s first musical, comes out on December 10, 2021 from December 18, 2020.

This will push back movies in early 2021 back to later 2021.  Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals have both been moved back.  Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings moved from May 7, 2021 to July 9, 2021.  The Eternals moved from Feb. 12, 2021 to Nov. 5, 2021.

This is sad new for movie theaters.  Many of them might now recover from lack of film release in 2020.  It makes sense from a money standpoint with Disney but might just sink the industry that supports them.
