Robert Louis Stevenson’s timeless adventure novel Treasure Island is getting a bold, high-stakes reimagining in a six-part limited series heading to MGM+ in the US and Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland.
Created by Robert Murphy (Vera, Shetland), this fresh take expands and reimagines key characters—most notably elevating Jim Hawkins’ mother, Bess Hawkins, into a fierce narrative partner alongside her son. Played by Marvel favorite Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning), Bess teams up with young Jim (Tom Sweet) after he memorizes Captain Flint’s legendary map. Together, mother and son race across treacherous seas to claim the fortune while navigating a lethal web of shifting loyalties between Long John Silver’s ruthless pirates and Aaron Graham, a duplicitous British spy.
