Johnny Depp Returns as Ebenezer Scrooge

Most know the iconic story of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. Over the decades, we’ve seen countless adaptations of the legendary miser Ebenezer Scrooge—from Muppets to animated classics—but a fresh, gothic reimagining is headed to the big screen this holiday season.

Paramount Pictures has officially dropped the first trailer for Ebenezer, starring Johnny Depp as the titular holiday grump. While the trailer’s dark, quirky aesthetic might give off major Tim Burton vibes, Burton isn’t attached to this project. Instead, horror favorite Ti West (X, Pearl, MaXXXine) takes the helm, bringing a sinister, atmospheric edge to Victorian London.
