VisionCon- Media Guests

VisionCon is this weekend in Springfield, MO.  It returns to Springfield after 5 year away (in Branson).  It will be held downtown Springfield at the Expo Center (635 St. Louis Street, Springfield, MO 65806) starting on Friday May 10 at noon and runs through the afternoon on Sunday May 12.

VisionCon will have several various guests attending the convention.  I am going to highlight the media guests.

Jewel Staite is first on our list.  Staite is best known for her role as the spunky ship mechanic Kaylee on Firefly/ Serenity.  She played Dr. Keller on Stargate: Atlantis.  She starred at Rachel on the CW series, The L.A. Complex.

Artist David Faught created (above) and will have prints for sale at his booth of Jewel Staite’s Kaylee.  It is amazing and you can get Staite to sign it for you.

Dana Powell is grew up in Springfield and went to Hillcrest high school.  She attended Missouri State University for theater performance degree.  She is known for her roles on Bridesmaids as Flight Attendant Claire.  She is Cam’s older sister Pam Tucker on Modern Family.  She also had memorable roles on BrainstormEmily’s Reasons Why NotSuburgatory and The List.

Depending on your age and view when you watched the Brady Bunch, you either loved or hated Robbie Rist’s Cousin Oliver character.  Since his time as Cousin Oliver, Rist’s has become a well known voice actor.  He was the original voice of Michelangelo in the Original Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films.  He is Chouji Akimichi in the anime series, Naruto.  On Disney Jr series, Doc McStuffins, he is the voice of Stuffy.

Timothy Chiasson is a 22 year veteran of the United States Army Military Police Corps.  He started his art career in 2007.  He is known for his military Themed pieces, which covered people, vehicles, and aircraft.  He now works with Robotech, Harmony Gold, USA Inc. as a licensed Fan Artist.

George Edward Lowe is a voice actor who is best known for voicing Space Ghost on several different cartoon versions including Space Ghost Coast to Coast and  Cartoon Planet. He has also voiced recurring characters on Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Robot Chicken.

There are several different guests in other categories including Cosplay and creators.  Make sure you check them out. See you at VisionCon.
