British actor, Patrick Macnee, passed away today at 93. Macnee was best known for his role on the television series, The Avengers, as John Steed. Macnee will always be remember for his bowler hat and umbrella on The Avengers. Steed’s character never carried a gun on the series.
Macnee had great chemistry with the female leads on The Avengers. The most notable was with actress Dianna Rigg, who portrayed the cat suit wearing Emma Peel. Rigg held her own and made for fun television.
