So I got a chance to see the first film out of the final 6 in the saga of Erik Minard. Minard is the Star Trek Fan film character created by Vance Major Owen. This does not officially hit YouTube for another 3 weeks, so I can not divulge anything about the film(I was asked not to leak anything). but I will say the following….
This is 7 minutes of fan film goodness. This film does resolve some questions, while creating so many more. Yes the poster does give a hint of the direction of this film, but it is not what you will expect. Twice the Minard equates to twice the fun. Yes, that is a famous “police box” in the poster……no I can not tell you how, or why it is there, you will have to wait to find out. let me just say that “it is there for a reason, and it does make sense in the end”. There is an end credit scene which is a great homage to a lot of classic sci-fi series.
If this is any indication of the strength of the last set of movies from Vance, January and February are going to be two fun months in fan film land.
just for your excitement I rate this film 8/10. This is one of the best things Vance has ever done
