I have enjoyed most of the Batman cartoons. I really loved Batman the Animated Series. The Batman was really KOOL and I really enjoyed it but it ended too quickly. It took me a while to really like Batman: Brave and the Bold. By the end, I really appreciated the humor and the nods to the silver age.
I assumed I would like another Batman cartoon series. I have been looking forward to it. But … I really don’t like the look of characters. I found the 3D CGI look distracting for the recently canceled Green Lantern Animated Series. From this trailer, I get the same feeling. Will I get over it and enjoy this series? It is possible if the story is well told. This trailer didn’t excite me.
The villains appear to be more from the C and D list bad guys. It doesn’t look like Batman’s rouges will show up (at least at first) I don’t really care about Batman fighting the likes of Professor Pyg, Magpie, and Mr Toad. Has Batman beat up the Joker, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Penguin, and Riddler too often in the cartoons so we have to focus on others?
