Top 21 Anticipated Movies in 2013

Here is my list of the 2013 movies I am most anticipating for 2013. It looks like another stellar year for Geeky KOOL movies. I was going to make a top ten list but I could stop. So this is our top twenty one list of Geeky KOOL movies in 2013.

21) The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
Mythical Demon hunters with magic tattoos. You have to be chosen to actually see the demons and the combat.  Looks pretty KOOL.

20) Warm Bodies
Zombie falls in love and starts to change back to human.  It looks pretty fun and a great take on the whole zombie routine.

19) A Good Day to Die Hard
I remember watching the first Die Hard movie back at the end of the 80s.  I loved that movie. This movie will not be that good but it does look like a lot of fun. I hope they bring in his son much better than Indiana Jones did.

18) World War Z
I love a good zombie movie or television show. This one looks really KOOL. I am not a big Brad Pitt fan but I am into this movie.

17) Dark Skies
This movie looks very creepy but it could be a lot of fun. This is a typical Alien Abduction type of movie.

16) Gangster Squad
I thought of the Untouchables as soon as I saw the preview.  I love a good cops versus gangster movies.

15) The Host
This looks like an interesting take on the Invasion of the Body Snatchers idea. It is an invasion and take over of the bodies. It appears to include a love story in the middle. I am in for this movie.

14) Oblivion
This looks like a fun post apocalyptic science fiction movie with the Earth in ruins. There is a few movies that have a similar feel to Oblivion. It looks like a good Tom Cruise movie.

13) GI Joe: Retaliation
I would see this movie just for nostalgic sake. But this movie also has the Rock and Bruce Willis. Ninja attacks and typical G.I. Joe action fun should be the norm of this movie. It won’t win an Oscar but it looks like fun.

12) Jack the Giant Slayer
Taking Fairy Tales and using them as a basis for television series and movies have become the norm now days. Jack looks like a lot of fun.

11)  Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The first Hunger Games movie was a big surprise for me. I didn’t expect it to be really good.  I have never read the books but my 11 year old daughter has and loved them.  I am bit excited for this movie.  There is no trailer for it at this point.

10) After Earth
After Earth is another fun post apocalyptic science fiction movie with the Earth in ruins. I love the Fresh Prince and his son Jaden. It is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, which used to mean something. Hopefully this is his come back film. I like the premise of After Earth slightly better than Oblivion

9) The Lone Ranger
I love the Lone Ranger since I was a kid. I also love Johnny Depp movies. I wasn’t sold on this movie and Depp as Tonto but this second trailer has me pumped up. I can’t wait for it.

8)  The Wolverine
The first Wolverine movie was a bit lackluster with a few KOOL parts. This movie takes Logan to Japan. Some of the KOOLEST solo adventures in the comics takes place in Japan. I wonder if they will bring in the Patch alias. There is no trailer yet but we do have a movie poster below.

7) Oz: The Great and Powerful
This prequel to the Wizard of Oz looks like a ton of fun. It has a Alice in Wonderland feel from a couple of years ago which I think is a good thing.

6) Thor: The Dark World
Thor is another Marvel movie I am really looking forward to viewing. I loved the first movie. He was great in the Avengers.  I love that it is set in the mystical relms and he will fight dark elves.  There is no trailer but a KOOL photo.

5) Man of Steel
I am not a fan of this trailer. It is difficult tell it is a Superman movie. I find it a bit depressing. But I am still excited for this movie. I hope it will be a ton better than the trailer. Can the studios finally make a good Superman movie? It has been since 1980.

4) Iron Man 3
On the other hand, I love this trailer and it has a bunch of action. It has a great villain in the Mandarin. My expectations are really high for this movie. I hope it doesn’t let me down like Spider-Man 3 and X-Men 3.

3) Pacific Rim
Giant monsters from a Dimension through the sea attack Earth. So we respond the only way we can, by creating Giant robots to fight them. I love the idea and the trailer.

2) The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug
I loved The Hobbit as a book. I was entranced by the first movie. I can’t wait until next December to see The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug. There is no official trailer yet. I post a Youtube video that includes some pictures from the movie.

1) Star Trek Into Darkness
I have always been more of a Star Wars guy over Star Trek but I do love both franchises. I loved the re-imaging from J.J. Abrams. This sequel looks fantastically geeky KOOL.
