NBC will air a remake of the classic monster show, The Munsters, on October 26th. This pilot episode could be a one shot deal or it could be the beginning of a whole new series. It seems NBC will hedge their bets.
NBC will air The Munsters’ movie, Mockingbird Lane, after Grimm only days before Halloween. This will flow nicely with the spooky theme of Grimm and Halloween. If it is a big winner, then NBC could pick up more episodes.
Can a remake live up to the original goofy series? Very rarely do remakes live up the original source. Can Jerry O’ Connell become the lumbering Herman Munster without us thinking of Quinn from Sliders or pining for Fred Gwynne’s Herman? That will be difficult on both accounts.
