What happens when you combine a spooky city such as Richmond Virginia, StrangeVA Tours owner Jeffrey Holmes, Bram Stokers Great Grand Nephew Dacre Stoker, a bunch of vampire centric authors, and a group of Dracula fans. You get an amazing 2 days of informative information on Who, What, Why and How Bram Stoker lived and decided to write one of the greatest horror creations in existence. Friday Night there was a private event called “Dissecting Dracula” Where people got to look at Bram Stokers Original notes, the maps he used and why parts were left out of the finished novel.
On Saturday October 4th, at the main branch of the Richmond VA Library, there was a chance to listen to Horror Authors, Pamela Kinney, Sharon Pajka and Geekykool’s own Author and staff member Ashley Grant as they spoke about WHY Dracula inspired them to write about him, what did they most like about the character of Dracula, and what vampire based shows and movies did they most like.
One of the really cool things about Saturday was listening to Dacre tell the history of Dracula, in books, Plays, Movies and TV Shows. His talk was enlightening, but because of Copyright issues, he requested that I did not record it, but the slideshow he played, I was allowed to take pictures of, so here are some of them, can’t give away all of Dacre’s secrets.
