Robert Duvall Passed Away at 95 Years Old

Legendary actor Robert Duvall passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 95.

Duvall began his film career in 1962 with a small but memorable role as the reclusive Boo Radley in the movie adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. Although he had no spoken lines, the performance marked the beginning of a remarkable career spanning more than six decades.

From there, Duvall lit up the screen in a long list of classic films, including Bullitt, True Grit, M*A*S*H, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, The Great Santini, and Apocalypse Now. In 1983, he earned an Academy Award for his powerful portrayal of a recovering alcoholic country singer in Tender Mercies.

While Duvall delivered countless unforgettable performances, the one that stands out most for me is his role in Secondhand Lions. His warmth, humor, and quiet strength in that film perfectly encapsulated what made him such an extraordinary actor.

Rest in peace, Robert Duvall. You are deeply missed.
