Nicholas Brendon who became famous playing Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer has passed away at 54. His family said he “passed away in his sleep from natural causes”. Nicholas was part of the show for the entire 7 year run, appearing in all but one episode. Later he appeared in 21 episodes of Criminal Minds playing FBI Technical analyst Kevin Lynch, appearing in at least 1 episode in each season from season 3-10.
Nicholas was also directly involved in the creation and writing of the Buffy comic: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 10.
Nicholas was a regular on the Comic Con circuit, and he loved reading fan fiction on his facebook page.
Off camera Nicholas had well known bouts of alcoholism and depression. These issues led to well documented run-ins with the law, for things like vandalism, theft and domestic violence.
