The Divergent movies are based on of the Divergent book trilogy. The final book is of the series is Allegiant.
The Hunger Games divided their last movie into two parts for the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. When the Divergent movies decided to break apart their final book, Allegiant, we assumed they would follow suit with Mockingjay.
Instead of a part 1 and part 2 movie, the Divergent movies went a different direction. The third movie is named Allegiant, the name of the third book. But the fourth movie is Ascendant. I included the first posters for both movies.

My 14-year-old daughter is really upset by this news. She stated the name of the fourth movie is really “lame”. I guess it didn’t really have “legs” with her.
