I have really enjoyed the book series of Shannara by Terry Brooks. His style is similar to Tolkien without being as wordy. It is very exciting that these stories are being adapted to television.
According to Terry Brooks website, MTV has created a new series based on the Shannara series. The first season will be ten episodes. It will be based on his novel, The Elfstones of Shannara.
