I didn’t know that the 1987 movie, The Running Man, was loosely based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Stephen King. Paramount Pictures is releasing a new The Running Man film. This is not a remake of the 87 film but a new and much closer to the book adaptation.
A top rated television show, The Running Man, is the top ratings getter on TV. It is a deadly competition where contestants have survive 30 days will being hunted by professional assassins while it is being broadcast. The longer they can survive, the great cash reward. Ben Richards was blackballed and unable to get a job and his daughter is severely sick. He enters the game show as a last ditch effort to take care of his family.
The Running Man will be in theaters on November 7, 2025.
