The Ozark Mountain Bigfoot Conference is rapidly approaching, and one of this year’s most compelling headline speakers is Dave Roberts—better known to the cryptid community as SuperDave a.k.a. Sasquatch (or the “Bigfoot Preacher”).
A combat military veteran, researcher, investigator, and self-described “Knower,” Roberts brings a uniquely fearless perspective to Sasquatch research. He is also the author of the upcoming book, Sasquatch—In Your Face.
Roberts’ lifelong pursuit began at age 12 in the spring of 1974 along the Saginaw Eddy Bottoms near the Ouachita River in Arkansas. It was there that he came face-to-face with a towering, hair-covered figure that splashed water directly into his face. Roberts has often noted that despite his years of military combat experience, nothing in his life has ever terrified him quite like that initial childhood encounter.
Today, Roberts serves as the National Director for Central USA for Broken Chains JC, a faith-based outreach ministry. His approach to field research is famously hands-on: he regularly treks into rugged, difficult terrain that other researchers avoid, meticulously examining overlooked environmental evidence in hopes of bringing clarity and truth to those willing to listen.

Ozark Lore: The Legend of the Fouke Monster
While Arkansas’s Ouachita River and Saginaw Eddy Bottoms are famous in regional cryptid lore, the area’s most iconic legend is the Fouke Monster—a large, foul-smelling, ape-like creature reported in Miller County since the early 1900s. The creature gained international fame following the 1972 drive-in horror classic The Legend of Boggy Creek.
