Lego is every where.  They had a hit movie last year.  Their video games are favorites with kids and adults a like. They continue to put out 60 billion Lego blocks annually.

Their 57 year old company could just relax and count their profits.  Instead, they have a new vision.  They will get rid of the main “building block” of their Lego blocks.  They will find a way to make their Lego blocks without oil to make their plastic by the year 2030.

The majority of their carbon footprint comes from the extraction and refinement of the oil.  This has lead the Danish company to decrease their footprint by finding a different base to make their plastic blocks instead of oil.  They are investing around $150 Million American dollars to find a sustainable and durable material.

Lego already recycles around 70 millions bricks every year.  Recycling    old Lego blocks makes sense to the company because they know how they were made and with the type of quality since they made them.
