Greta Gerwig’s Little Women First Photos

Greta Gerwig’s Little Women First Photos

So I love classic literature. I love movies and sometimes when the two meet it is magic. Sometimes it is disappointing but I am actually very optimistic about the new adaptation of one of my favorites, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. The film’s screenplay was written by Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, who is also directing. The producers are Amy Pascal, Denise Di Novi, and Robin Swicord. Andrea Giannetti will oversee the production for Columbia.

The film is based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott. The story follows the March sisters: Amy, Jo, Beth, and Meg in post-Civil War America.

The first photos for Little Women were released on Wednesday via Vanity Fair. Check out the Vanity Fair article here.

The cast is impressive with many young talented actors and actresses joining the ranks.

Saoirse Ronan plays Jo March, after starring in Gerwig’s Lady Bird.

Emma Watson as Meg March,

Florence Pugh of Midsommer as Amy March

Eliza Scanlen  from HBO’s Sharp Objects as Beth March,

Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) as boy-next-door Laurie. This casting choice makes me very happy!

Laura Dern plays Marmie and the incomparable Meryl Streep is portraying Aunt Josephine.

I am looking forward to this movie so much!

I get excited when Great literature and movies come together. I have all kinds of hopes for this movie! The casting is wonderful and I look forward to Greta Gerwig’s take on it.

What are your thoughts on this adaptation?
