Galaxycon Richmond 2023 Day 3 Interviews

Galaxycon Richmond 2023 Day 3 Interviews

Day 3 at GalaxyCon Richmond was filled with interviews with Comic Creators, and Star Trek Stars. Originally I was going to do a separate post for each, but with another con coming up this weekend, I am going to put them all into 1 big post.

First up is an interview with Brian O’Halleran who stared in Clerks 1,2,3 and Mallrats. All of which are Kevin Smith films. This 6 minute interview touched on a bit of everything, from filming the movies, to Kevin Smith’s health, the purchase of his local theater in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, the Mallrats script cameo in Captain Marvel, and his future plans. it was a fun wide ranging interview, with a really cool guy.

Next up was one of my favorite actors ever to don a Star Trek Uniform, Walter Koenig, who Played Chekov in the 2nd and 3rd season of TOS, and Psycop Alfred Bester on Babylon 5. during the interview Walter even corrected me when I mentioned that he appeared in 6 Star Trek Films and the correct answer is actually 7(Damn You Generations). I had previously met Walter at STLV55, so getting to talk to him even for a few minutes was definitely one of my highlights.

Then it was off to interview some Comic Creators, and the first one I talked to was Scott Hanna. Scott has had a long history working for Marvel Comics working on such titles as The Amazing Spider Man, X-Men, Cable, Thunderbolts, Thor and even The Incredible Hulk.

Next up was a quick 30 second short with Marvel writer and editor Ann Nocenti. This wasn’t actually a planned video, I was waiting on Josef Rubinstein(who was seated next to her) to be free for an interview. She gave us an update on her 2 new comics coming out, one that she couldn’t really talk about, but she shows an image from it.

The Next interview was with Dan Jurgens. All I have to say is Dan Jurgans worked on one of the greatest Comic Books in history “The Death of Superman”. he also Created such great characters including Booster Gold, Doomsday, and Hank Hneshaw(Martian Manhunter). This was a fun interviewas Dan was very open with his thoughts.

My last interview for the Con was with a man who needs no introduction. If you are a fan of the mini series Wolverine, than you know first hand, the work of Josef Rubinstein. Josef also did the inking for EVERY CHARACTER in Marvel Comics: The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.

All told it was 3 days of fun, and fandom. I am definitely looking forward to covering it again next year.
