Free Comic Book Day is Tomorrow

Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow. This is a day where local comic book shop celebrate comics and all things geeky.  They give away specific comics that the industry partners with the shops to give away.  Here is an article I did about Free Comic Book Day and the free comics (Click Here).

I will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day at my two favorite local comic shops.  There will be comic creators at both shops to sign and give away things.  Both shops will have huge sales going on.  If you live around Springfield, MO, you need to check out both shops.

Free Comic Book Day is better sweet for one of our shops.  This is the last FCBD for The Comic Cave.   The Comic Cave is going out of business. This is the start of their liquidation sale.  There will be deals to be had at The Comic Cave.

Along with the deals, you can meet some awesome comic creators at The Comic Cave on Saturday May the 4th.  The master comic writer Cullen Bunn will be there signing comics.  He is joined by writer and artist Kyle Strahm. These two have teamed up for the Image horror comic, Unearth.

The other shop to check out is Nameless City Board Games & Comics.  Nameless City will have a ton going on including big sales.  They have the fine folks from  VisionCon selling discounted 3 day passes for the convention from May 10th through May 12.  They are having raffle give aways of ” new copy of Star Wars: Rebellion board game, D&D 5th edition book Dungeon of the Mad Mage, an exclusive hand numbered and signed print of our front window Judge Dredd by David Faught, and an Animated Series Femme Fatales PVC statue.  You can win by going in and filling out the free raffle ticket.

Nameless City will have the 501st (Storm Troopers) and Wonder Woman and Green Arrow from DC Unlimited Cosplay to greet kids and adults alike and take pictures.  They will have a slew of local artists including  OzFoxes, our friend ate Howard of Potbelly Mammoth,  our friend David Faught, Phil Morrissey, Tim Bauer, John Nelson, Chris Harris and Mat Murphy, and others.  This is a cool time to score some free art and pick up some sketches for tips.  Get to know these awesome creators in our area.

Go out and visit those local comic stores.  I have given you my recommendations for stores. Tell me where you are going or went and what all was going on at those stores.

Stay Geeky!
