Day 1 of Oz-Con

Day 1 of Oz-Con

I had a great day with Day 1 of Oz-Con.  This year I have a booth and I am a special guest of Oz-Con.  It is an amazing privilege to be here as a  guest.  The staff here at Oz-Con have always been top notch. They are super friendly and helpful with everyone.

Opening ceremonies went really well. We did hear from head of the West Plains Child Advocacy Center about their center and all of the great work they do.  The convention opened with a lot of fun.

Shpoo and I cosplayed as members of  “Track Suit Mafia” from the Disney+ series, Hawkeye.  I got to use my favorite fake Russian accent and go around asking people if they had seen “that Hawk Guy” or “Kate Bishop”.  Shpoo and I fed off of each other.  I think we drove A.J. crazy with it.  Check out the picture above.

The convention floor wasn’t as busy as I hoped on Friday.  There are lots of challenges for it.  People have to work on Fridays and that will cause it to be slower.  We have people still concerned about COVID and making important choices for themselves.  The convention hasn’t been able to be held in a couple of years because of COVID so it can be hard to get people back into the groove.  Oz-Con is also competing with Planet Comicon in Kansas City and Wizard World St. Louis, which is also going on this weekend.

No matter how many people are able to attend, and I hope there is a lot that can tomorrow and Sunday, it will be an amazing convention. I hope you can all make it out.

Stay Geeky!
