The long-awaited live-action/animation hybrid Coyote vs. Acme is officially dropping (with or wihtout an anvil) into theaters on August 28, 2026.
Based on the classic 1990 New Yorker humor piece, the movie follows Wile E. Coyote after he decides he has finally had enough of faulty giant magnets, exploding TNT, and rocket skates that smash into canyon walls. To get justice, he hires a down-on-his-luck billboard lawyer (played by Will Forte) to sue the ACME Corporation for decades of product-induced pain and suffering.
The courtroom drama pits Team Coyote against ACME’s intimidating, slick corporate defense counsel, played by John Cena. The star-studded human cast also features Lana Condor and Tone Bell, who will be sharing the screen with legendary animated icons like Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, the Road Runner, and the plaintiff himself.
After years of real-world industry drama to keep this movie alive, seeing it finally get the theatrical release it deserves is a massive win for animation fans everywhere.
