This past weekend a brand new horror convention hit Norfolk, VA. Blood in the Water Con was a new Convention brought to us by the same group that runs Tidewater Horror Con in October. This years convention was a Jaws reunion with Jeffrey Vorhees(Alex Kintner from Jaws), Billy Van Zant(Bob Burnsides from Jaws 2), Gigi Vorgan(Brooke Peters from Jaws 2), John Dukakis(Paul Lowman from Jaws 2) And Tony Moran(Michael Meyers from Halloween).
For the first year, they had a decent crowd both days at the con.
My first interview was with Billy Van Zant, if the last name sounds familiar its because he is the Half Brother to E Street Guitarist and Actor Steven Van Zant. We talk about his love of theater, and doing conventions and his “more famous” half sibling.
I also interview the most famous 1 minute of screen time in movie history, actor Jeffrey Vorhees who played the 2nd victim of the Great White Shark in Jaws. In a wide ranging interview, we talked about how he got the part, hijinks on and off the set, his time as a restaurant owner, And various other subjects.
We didn’t get a lot of Cosplay photos, but we did get a few really good ones
it was a really good Con for the first year, and every Vendor I spoke to seemed to enjoy their time and are looking forward to the Con being held again.
