Acclaimed director Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille) is officially returning to feature animation with his long-gestating passion project, Ray Gunn.
Set in the sprawling retro-futuristic city of Metropia, the film follows Raymond Gunn (Sam Rockwell), a world-weary private investigator operating in an alternate 1939 where retro-1930s culture collides with high-tech sci-fi technology. When Gunn is hired for a routine assignment, he quickly finds himself embroiled in a dangerous web of conspiracy involving aliens, murder, and a glamorous multimedia starlet named Venus Nova (Scarlett Johansson).
Bird directs the animated feature from a screenplay co-written alongside Matthew Robbins (Pinocchio, Batteries Not Included). The project boasts a stellar, top-tier voice cast:
