Panem fans, assemble! We are officially returning to the arena with The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling prequel novel and directed by franchise veteran Francis Lawrence, the film jumps back 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s story to the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games—famously known as the Second Quarter Quell.
This milestone anniversary introduces a deadly twist: to mark the Quell, the Capitol demands twice as many tributes from each district. The story centers on a sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) from District 12. Reaped into the largest and most ruthless Games yet, Haymitch must navigate deadly arena dynamics and form daring alliances to fight for survival and take down the Games from within.
