What’s worse than a Category 5 hurricane flooding your coastal home? How about the fact that the storm surge brought some of the ocean’s deadliest hunters along for the ride?
Netflix has officially released the first trailer for Thrash, a high-stakes survival thriller that takes the “sharks in a city” premise and gives it a brutal, realistic edge. While the concept might bring to mind the campy fun of Sharknado, the first look at Thrash suggests something much closer to the claustrophobic terror of Crawl or The Shallows.
A Race Against Time and Tide
The film stars Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton) as a woman who is nine months pregnant and trapped in a coastal town decimated by a catastrophic storm. As the waters rise, she must navigate the debris-filled streets while being hunted by starving sharks that have been swept inland.
Dynevor is joined by an impressive ensemble cast, including:
-
Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One)
-
Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl)
-
Matt Nable (Arrow)
Release Date
You won’t have to wait long to see if they make it out alive. Thrash is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on April 10, 2026.
